Mumbai: It was a momentous occasion as Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated 310- bed Medicover hospitals in Navi Mumbai. The hospital will provide world-class medical care to those living in and around Navi Mumbai, and is a major milestone for healthcare access in the city.

Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan, Member of Lok Sabha Sunil Tatkare, Srirang Barane, MP, MLA Prashant Thakur, Secretary of Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune and Pro Vice Chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune Dr Vishwajeet Kadam, Honorable Chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth Dr Shivajirao Kadam, Dr. Anil Krishna, Chairman & Medical Director of Medicover Hospitals, and Mr. Fredrick Stenmo, Global Chairman of Medicover Hospital, and other dignitaries were present at the event.

The new hospital features the latest state-of-the-art technology, along with modern infrastructure to provide a comfortable experience to patients. It offers a wide range of specialties from general medicine to critical care, and also includes departments such as Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Pulmonology, ENT, and other specialties, having a highly qualified doctor, specialists, and medical staff with years of experience in their respective fields. In addition to its clinical services, the hospital also provides education and research opportunities for medical professionals.

Dr Vishwajeet Kadam, Secretary of Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune and Pro Vice Chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune said “We are very happy and honored that Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis accepted the invitation of Bharati Vidyapeeth and Medicover Hospitals to be present at the grand opening ceremony of the hospital. He took out valuable time in his hectic schedule and came here.”

Deputy Chief Minister Of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis Said who inaugurated the hospital said “I congratulate Bharati Vidyapeeth and Medicover Hospitals for launching this world-class facility. We can see a revolutionary change in the healthcare sector in terms of research, diagnostics, and technology. There are changes happening on a large scale in the healthcare sector. We need modern state-of-the-art institutions for the benefit of people. The common man will benefit due to modern healthcare facilities.

The healthcare sector is shifting to medical tourism which will boost the economy. Today, there is cutting-edge technology used in the healthcare sector and we also need investment for more such innovations. We are happy that Pradhanmantri Jan Arogya Yojana by the honorable Modiji, we are able to give Rs 5 lakhs health insurance coverage to the poor and needy. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana in Maharashtra offers 2 Lakhs cover to the needy. We need to work toward the health insurance sector too. We need to increase the penetration, transparency, cover, and accessibility in the health insurance sector.”

Chief Guest and Former Chief Minister Of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan said, “The hospital has been started by a joint venture of Bharati Vidyapeeth and Medicover. Medicover is working in the medical field across the country. Partnering with the European group will help bring European standards of medical practice to India. In the government hospitals of Maharashtra, the number of doctors is falling short compared to the increasing number of patients.

It is necessary to pay attention to this. Apart from this, the government bears the entire medical expenses of financially weak patients abroad. But we spend only 25 percent on medical facilities. 75 percent of the cost has to be borne by the patients. In this year's budget, the amount of government expenditure on medical facilities should be increased so that medical facilities are made available to people in rural areas and the needy patients can benefit from it.”

Dr G Anil Krishna, Chairman & Medical Director of Medicover Hospitals Said “We inaugurated the hospital with the golden hands of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis ji and thank him for taking out time for us. There is a need for healthcare in this part of the city. The major goal behind launching a new hospital is to improve the healthcare available in this area. Each department has highly qualified staff dedicated to providing the best possible care to their patients.

To ensure all individuals have access to good healthcare services, we have planned an outreach program to reach out to people from every corner, regardless of their geographical location or socio-economic status. Providing financial assistance for those who cannot afford health services can also help bridge gaps in care caused by inadequate resources or lack of insurance coverage. We aim to deliver affordable and excellent healthcare which we promised as a leading healthcare brand in this country for the last 7 years. We aim to make the homes of Mumbai, happier and healthier.”

The Global Chairman of Medicover Hospital - Mr. Fredrick Stenmo “The success of Medicover comes from a long-term passion for the highest quality care and services. We are ambitious about continuing our journey of expanding healthcare services. Medicover consistently provides the highest quality of care and service of technology.

Access to quality and affordable healthcare is important for Indians and Medicover will play an important role in India for decades to come. We have established a world-class facility to offer comprehensive multi speciality and superspeciality care under one roof.”
