82 Bhongir district hospital staff face action over absenteeism

Show Cause Notice
Hyderabad: Following a surprise inspection at the district headquarters hospital in Bhongir, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri District Collector M. Hanumantha Rao issued show-cause notices to 82 hospital staff for various lapses, including unauthorised absence and tardiness.
According to the news reports, the collector spent nearly three hours at the hospital, touring the premises and interacting directly with patients to assess the quality of services being provided. During the inspection, it was found that 63 staff members failed to report to duty on time, while 19 others were absent without any sanctioned leave.

Taking serious note of the lapses, the collector directed hospital authorities to ensure strict adherence to duty timings and warned that disciplinary action would be initiated against staff found negligent in their responsibilities, reports Deccan Chronicle.
Hanumantha Rao visited every ward in the hospital and interacted with patients to gather firsthand feedback on medical care. He reviewed the functioning of key departments, including delivery, paediatrics, and other critical units.
As per TOI news reports, the collector spoke to some patients in the emergency wing to confirm if they were receiving timely medical attention. He made it clear that the government would not compromise on the quality of medical services and the food being provided to the patients in the hospital.
