AIIMS Bhopal Launches One State, One Health to Standardise Emergency Care

AIIMS Bhopal
Bhopal: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal, has launched the ‘One State, One Health Emergency Medicine’ initiative. The ambitious programme is designed to standardise emergency medical services across all hospitals in Madhya Pradesh, regardless of their location, infrastructure, or size.
This initiative makes high-quality emergency care accessible to all citizens. By matching treatment protocols with existing resources, it standardizes emergency response across the state and helps bridge gaps in healthcare delivery.
As part of the rollout, AIIMS Bhopal has initiated disaster management mock drills to prepare healthcare workers and medical students for real-life emergencies. These drills are focused on building rapid response capabilities and ensuring that medical professionals are equipped to handle critical situations with competence and coordination.

Speaking to the Free Press Journal, AIIMS director Dr Ajai Singh said, “Reaching every citizen of Madhya Pradesh with world-class emergency care is our mission. By adopting standardised protocols during emergencies, we can significantly improve life-saving efforts and reduce regional healthcare disparities”.
He added that the initiative represents a pivotal step toward integrating and strengthening the healthcare delivery system throughout the state. It is expected to not only enhance emergency care outcomes but also bring about a more equitable healthcare system for all residents of Madhya Pradesh.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that “India is ahead of several countries in drafting the legal framework to support and strengthen the implementation of the One Health initiative. This represents India’s advanced thought process and leadership, and showcases our vision in this area. A national consultation with multiple partners and stakeholders is not only important but also very timely. COVID-19 has forced us to re-focus our attention on the importance of zoonotic diseases and the intricate linkages between the human, animal, and plant ecosystems.”
