AIIMS Delhi ranks ahead of Oxford, Cambridge in world's top 100 medical colleges
Delhi: Racing ahead of Oxford, Cambridge in rankings for best medical schools in the world, the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi has secured 23rd rank with a score of 86.38.
According to the CEOWORLD magazine, six medical colleges from India have secured recognition among the top 100 best medical colleges all over the world in 2021. Among these, Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has secured 23rd position with a score of 86.38 and left behind eminent and globally recognized medical institutions like Oxford and Cambridge in the list.
UK-based Oxford University Medical School has ranked 24th, just after AIIMS with a score of 86.02. Oxford is followed by Cincinnati College of Medicine with a score of 85.08 and the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine with 84.96.
As far as other Indian medical colleges are concerned, Pune-based Armed Forces Medical College has landed on 34th rank of the list with a score of 83.04. Christian Medical College from Vellore on the other hand came 49th with a score of 80.83. Pondicherry-based JIPMER is 59th on the list with a score of 78.86 while Medical College Chennai and IMS BHU Varanasi stood 64th (77.94 score) and 72nd (76.77 score) respectively.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has shared the news on social media and tweeted, "Proud moment for every Indian as 6 Indian Medical Colleges find a place in the list of 100 best medical colleges of the world in 2021."
The rankings are published in CEOWORLD magazine.
CEOWORLD magazine's list of best medical schools in the world for 2021 is based on 7 major indicators including academic reputation, admission Eligibility, specialization, global reputation and influence, annual tuition and fees, research performance and student satisfaction.
Before Preparing the list, students, industry professionals, and academicians were asked to rate medical schools on a scale of 1 "marginal" to 100 "outstanding" or "don't know."
