The intern further alleged that on September 30, while the two were on duty together in the dressing department, the accused allegedly attempted to initiate a conversation when no patients were present. He allegedly partially closed the door, asked her to accompany him for lunch, and offered to host a party.
She declined the invitation and reportedly told him that he was married and should not repeatedly flirt with her. According to the complaint, despite her objection, the accused allegedly continued making inappropriate remarks.
She further alleged that while she was sitting on a chair, he tried to pull the chair towards him. He later sat beside her when she was seated on a bench formed by joining three steel chairs.
The intern alleged that the accused then put his hand around her waist and later placed it on her shoulder.
Speaking to TOI, the intern said she got frightened and immediately left the dressing room and went to the emergency department, where she informed a colleague about the incident. She later informed other interns and a departmental-level complaint was initiated. She has also submitted a written complaint to the AIIMS chairman.
Gandhigram police booked the accused under Section 75(2) of the BNS. Gandhigram police inspector H P Gadhvi stated that the accused was arrested within hours of the complaint.
