Assam CM lays foundation stone of Rs 116 crore Azara District Hospital
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth Rs. 1,208 crore in Kamrup Metro district.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the elevated South Bank Corridor of Guwahati- North Guwahati Bridge involving an outlay of Rs. 326.01 crore and laid the foundation of a 100-bed Azara District Hospital at a project cost of Rs. 116 crore.
He performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the upgradation of the existing 2-lane road to a 4-lane road connecting LGBI Airport from VIP Junction to Dharapur Junction involving a project cost of Rs. 358 crore.

He also performed the ground breaking ceremony for Trumpet Interchange at Gauripur T Junction. The 5.482 KM project is to be built with a budgetary expenditure of Rs. 408 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, he said Assam Public Works Roads Department undertook the ambitious project for the construction of a 6-lane extra-dosed PSC Bridge over the Brahmaputra connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati for Rs. 2608.69 crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Bridge on February 9, 2019, he added.
He said another elevated corridor from Pandu to Kamakhya Temple over the Brahmaputra is on the pipeline which will materialise very soon.
Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Ashok Singhal, MP Queen Oja, MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita, Chief Minister’s wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, Mayor GMC Mrigen Sarania attended the meeting.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the state-of-the-art, 350-bed State Cancer Institute (SCI) in Guwahati built at Rs Rs 395 crore. The hospital is equipped with services like radiation, chemotherapy, robotic surgery, nuclear medicine and bone marrow transplants.
