Aster DM Healthcare announces new 500-bed hospital with Rs 580 crore investment

Bengaluru: Aster DM Healthcare, one of India’s leading integrated healthcare providers, in a move to strengthen its footprint in one of India's fastest-growing healthcare hubs, Bengaluru, has announced a 580 crore investment to develop a state-of-the-art, 500-bed multi-speciality hospital in Yeshwanthpur.
This new facility will be Aster’s fifth hospital in Bengaluru, bringing its total bed capacity in the city to 2,580 beds, thus cementing its position as one of the top three healthcare players in the city.
With a planned built-up area of approximately 5 lakh sq. ft, the facility will be on a Built-to-Suit (BTS) model, reinforcing Aster’s asset-light expansion approach in the city. Consistent with Aster’s asset-light approach, the facility will be fully operated and managed by the group, following the model applied to its recently announced facility on Sarjapur Road. The new hospital is expected to be operational in the second half of FY 2028-2029.

Aster has signed an Agreement to Lease (ATL) with Kemwell Pvt. Ltd., part of the Kemfin Family office, for the development of this new hospital under a long-term lease of 30 years, with provisions for renewal.
Dr Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare, said, “The Yeshwanthpur hospital marks a significant milestone in Aster DM Healthcare’s India growth strategy, especially in a vibrant and rapidly evolving healthcare market like Bengaluru. With this addition, we are expanding our capacity in the city to 2,580 beds, making it one of the largest private hospital networks in a single Indian metro.
Our vision is to build a seamlessly connected, high-quality healthcare ecosystem across urban India, and Bengaluru is at the heart of this ambition. The new hospital reflects our asset-light expansion approach, using Built-to-Suit models to deliver world-class healthcare infrastructure in high-demand corridors, while ensuring capital efficiency. Over the next few years, we aim to significantly increase our presence across South India by entering new cities and strengthening our footprint in existing ones.”
Strategically located in Yeshwanthpur, a rapidly developing corridor in northwest Bengaluru, the upcoming hospital will benefit from robust infrastructure and excellent connectivity. The area is well linked through key arterial roads such as Tumkur Road, Outer Ring Road, Bellary Road, and Chord Road, ensuring smooth access to both northern and western parts of the city.
It also enjoys seamless metro connectivity via the Green Line of Namma Metro and proximity to Yeshwanthpur Junction, a major railway hub. Surrounded by tech parks, industrial zones, and high-density residential areas, Yeshwanthpur caters to a catchment of nearly 3–4 million people, including several well-established neighborhoods with growing demand for advanced tertiary healthcare services.
