Bhopal Clinic shut down for operating without registration

Bhopal Clinic Sealed for Operating Illegally
Bhopal: A private clinic in Bhopal’s Jehangirabad area was shut down on Tuesday after it was found operating without mandatory registration and licenses. The closure followed an inspection by the Chief Medical and Health Officer’s (CMHO) team, part of a broader crackdown on unregulated healthcare centres across the city.
The inspection carried out at 2 PM on Tuesday revealed that the clinic was operating without any licensed medical professional present. Instead, a man was found managing the facility. He reportedly informed the inspection team that the doctor (MD, Medicine) — whose name is displayed on the clinic’s signboard — rarely visits the facility.

The inspection revealed a disturbing stockpile of allopathic medicines, medical equipment, including drip sets, syringes, and injection vials, all being stored in the clinic without proper licensing. Since the clinic was operating without any valid registration, the Health Department immediately issued an order to seal the premises. Furthermore, the Health Department has also notified the police, the Drug Controller, and the local administration about the irregularities.
Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation covering multiple aspects. According to the news reports, this includes verifying the doctor’s medical degree and registration with the appropriate medical council, assessing the legitimacy of the treatment practices being followed, and ensuring compliance with the Madhya Pradesh Nursing Home and Clinical Establishment Act.
Additionally, the inquiry will examine adherence to the Biomedical Waste Management Rules and confirm whether the establishment holds a valid Gumasta (trade) licence.
