Cockroach Found in Patient's Meal at Fortis Hospital Noida

Fortis Noida Accused of Serving Contaminated Food
Noida: A serious lapse in hygiene protocols at Fortis Hospital in Sector 62, Noida, has caused alarm after a cockroach was reportedly found in the food served to a female patient. The shocking incident has sparked widespread outrage, raising critical concerns over food safety standards at one of the city’s leading private hospitals.
The incident occurred when a female patient, recovering from surgery, was served a bowl of khichdi as part of her hospital-provided meal. Her husband, a resident of Sector 99, Noida, reportedly found the cockroach while assisting her with the meal. The discovery has not only distressed the patient’s family but also drawn sharp criticism from the public.

According to Noida Now, the patient’s husband, who made the unsettling discovery, described the incident as a “major health hazard” narrowly averted. “My wife could have eaten that cockroach,” he told reporters. “She’s already unwell, and this kind of negligence could have made things much worse.”
He further alleged that when the issue was raised with hospital authorities, they were dismissive and did not treat the complaint with the seriousness it deserved. Speaking to Noida Now, he said, “They didn’t take it seriously at all. It’s shocking that such carelessness is happening in a hospital that charges lakhs for treatment.”
Frustrated by the lack of accountability, the husband recorded a video of the contaminated food and shared it on social media. The video quickly went viral, sparking public outrage.
The family has taken the matter to the local police by filing a formal complaint, demanding a thorough investigation and accountability for the lapse in hygiene and food safety.
