Therefore, AIIMS decided to expand its control room services by creating additional outposts of the control room at all public entry points of the institute. The additional outposts will be made operational by March 31 this year.
New Delhi: Taking note of the difficulty patients face in obtaining emergency assistance after arriving at the premier hospital, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi has decided to expand its Control Room Services by creating additional outposts at all public entry points so that they are more visible and accessible for the patients.
In the office memorandum issued by the director Prof M Srinivas on February 2, it is noted that patients often need assistance on arrival at AIIMS and are not aware of the location of the control room near the Medical superintendent’s office.

“These outposts shall work as spokes for the central control room and will be manned by patient care managers and security supervisors working in coordination with the duty officer. The outposts will have a large glass window for easy visibility and will be equipped with mobile and intercom connectivity with the duty officer.
All communications to and from the said outposts will be recorded and CCTV will be installed in all outposts for the purpose of audit and records,” adds the order.
