Doon Medical College prepares COVID-19 war room to tackle Omicron threat

Dehradun: In the wake of the initial signs of a surge in COVID-19 cases and a rising number of people being detected with Omicron variant, the Dehradun Government Medical College is once again preparing a war room as a precautionary measure.
The college was established in 1935. The main purpose was to provide cost-effective health services to the entire Garhwal region of the Himalayas. This medical college improved healthcare access to the common person of this state. For the whole Garhwal region, Dehradun acts as a gateway, and patients come from seven districts of the region.
The hospital is fully functional with more than 300 beds and has ICU, Emergency, Central Laboratory, MRI, CT Scan, Modern OT'S, Colour Doppler and full strength of specialists staff. The hospital is ISO Certified. Medicine and Allied Sciences and Pharmacy are the two major streams in the college.
