Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital inaugurates new centre at Saravanampatti
A new eye hospital in Saravanampatti aims to expand access to specialised eye care, with advanced operation theatres, diagnostics and multiple ophthalmic services.
Coimbatore: Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital has inaugurated a new eye care facility in Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, expanding access to specialised ophthalmic services in the region. The newly opened centre is the group’s 89th hospital in Tamil Nadu.
The facility has been established to provide comprehensive eye care in a patient-focused setting. Its infrastructure includes advanced modular operation theatres and diagnostic equipment, along with integrated optical and pharmacy sections.
The hospital also features a Viewing Gallery intended to allow patients and caregivers to observe aspects of the treatment process. The facility has been designed with a calm environment aimed at supporting patient comfort during consultations and treatment.

Clinical services will be led by Dr E Karpagavalli, Regional Head - Clinical Services. The clinical team includes specialists providing services across multiple ophthalmic areas, including cataract, glaucoma, retina, cornea, refractive and oculoplastic care, reports Business News This Week.
The hospital was inaugurated by Dr Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust. Senior representatives from Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, including Dr E Karpagavalli and Nandha Kumar, Senior Vice President - Operations, were also present at the inauguration.
Speaking at the event, Dr Sundar Ramakrishnan highlighted the expansion of the hospital into the suburban areas of Coimbatore and said the facility would bring specialised eye care services closer to residents in Saravanampatti and surrounding areas.
Dr Karpagavalli said the new facility was part of the hospital’s efforts to expand access to eye care and provide diagnosis and treatment supported by modern technology and specialised professionals.
As part of the launch, the hospital is offering free eye consultations until September 30, 2026. The initiative is aimed at encouraging people to undergo eye consultations and seek timely evaluation for eye-related concerns, reports The Hindu.
