New Delhi: In an unfortunate incident, a massive fire broke out at Kosmos Hospital in Anand Vihar, East Delhi, on Saturday afternoon, leaving one person dead and at least 10 injured, Delhi Fire Service officials said.

Seven of the injured have been admitted to the Anand Vihar hospital itself, while three others sustained minor injuries, officials said.
The blaze has been brought under control, they added.
According to the Free Press Journal, the owner of Cosmos Hospital, RK Sachdeva, told the media that the hospital staff rescued several patients. “A short-circuit happened, and there were eight patients. Our staff rescued. A cleaning staff rescued a few people, but then he locked himself in the bathroom. There was one casualty,” Sachdeva said.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a minor fire broke out on the campus of the Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, on Wednesday, officials said. The minor fire was spotted at the garbage dump near the Green Building of the facility at College Street around 1 pm, they said.
