Cuttack: The Odisha High Court has stepped in to monitor the delayed installation of critical diagnostic equipment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, following continued setbacks that have impacted patient care. The move follows repeated assurances from the Odisha State Medicine Corporation (OSMC) that two essential machines would be operational by the end of May.

The High Court has set the next hearing on the matter for June 19, aiming to ensure accountability in the implementation of these vital medical devices.
Currently, patients in urgent need of diagnostic services such as advanced imaging and ECGs are being referred to alternative healthcare facilities, leading to increased inconvenience and additional financial burdens for families.
