Illegal hospital busted, Quack held for illegal sex determination in Gurugram
Gurugram: In an ongoing investigation to crack down against illegal sex determination in the state, the Haryana health department and the Chief Minister's flying squad arrested a quack on Tuesday in connection with the case.
A significant crackdown occurred following a raid conducted by health officials at a bogus 8-bed hospital in Gurugram. Based on substantial evidence, the suspect who treated several patients by impersonating as a doctor was taken into custody.
While investigating the case, the health officials discovered that the hospital had no valid documents which could verify the authenticity of the building and the quack also failed to produce a legal medical degree to claim himself as a doctor during the raid.

According to the police, the suspect is a resident of Himachal Pradesh and a class 12 passed fraudster who was involved in treating patients and was conducting ultrasounds and sonography on pregnant women for illegal sex determination tests.
The health officials conducted a raid based on a tip-off regarding the illegal activities in the hospital and nabbed the suspect after they found that the hospital as well as the medical staff were all bogus.
While verifying the documents, the team also observed that the hospital had a few patients admitted for treatment of various ailments. a huge number of oral and injectable medicines, medical and blood sample testing equipment, and blank letterheads of pathological laboratories were seized from the spot, reports Times Now.
According to health officials, such fake hospitals are mostly located in Palam Vihar, Bilaspur, Kherki Daula, Nadupur, Bajgera, Chakarpur, Manesar and Thankot Bangrola.
Speaking to the media, DSP Inderjeet Yadav said, "The person arrested on suspicion has studied only up to class 12. He has also conducted tests using ultrasound and sonography, which are banned in India, to determine the sex of the baby in the womb of pregnant women. Some hospitals run by fake doctors also provide OPD services. Not only intravenous injections, dressings, plasters but also deliveries are conducted here. Some of the fake hospitals also have laboratories, testing equipment, ICU, medicines, labor room, emergency room and operating theatres. We are actively monitoring and taking strict action."
“You cannot suspect that they are frauds when you walk in, but it is only after checking the papers that we found out that a majority of these establishments had no valid medical license and those running them or treating patients had no valid degrees. A majority of them were not even graduates. Gurugram is a hub for such fraud shops,” he added.
The matter was transferred to Sector 53 Police Station where a case has been registered against the suspect and is currently under investigation.
In the last three months, 30 fake hospitals have been identified and taken action by the State Health Department in collaboration with the Flying Squad of the Chief Minister's Office in Sector 28 of Gurugram, Haryana.
