IT Department raids 4 Delhi-NCR Hospitals in Tax evasion case
New Delhi: Several renowned private hospitals based in Noida, Faridabad and Gurugram has come under the radar of the Income Tax (IT) Department, which conducted search operations in there to investigate the allegations of tax evasion.
A total number of four hospitals which were being raided by the IT Department include QRG hospital, SSB hospital, Accord Hospital and Sarvodaya Hospital, adds IANS.
In fact, raid was conducted at the famous Noida based Metro Hospital in Sectors 11 and 12 as well. At the Metro Hospital, the IT team started the raid since 7.30 am in the morning.
According to sources, the search operation was going on in Sector 11 and 12 of Noida and in different sectors of Faridabad and Gurugram.
Each of the hospitals had to face an IT team consisting of 14-15 members, who scanned the transactions of the last three years of the hospitals. Besides, the IT team was also examining the documents related to the business dealings. To assist the I-T officials, a team from the local police station was also present at the hospitals.
As per the latest media report by India Today, Marengo QRG Hospital has denied the reports of raids at their premises. Issuing a press statement in this regard, the Hospital mentioned, "We would like to state that no such raid has happened by the IT/ED Department in Marengo QRG Hospital, Faridabad."
IANS adds that the IT Department has not officially reacted to the raids so far.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Income Tax Department had conducted searches on pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors in Haryana and Delhi-NCR and claimed to have seized cash of Rs 4.2 crore and jewellery or bullion worth Rs 4 crore.
The search and seizure operations, conducted on June 29, 2022, on a group engaged in the business of manufacturing and distribution of pharmaceutical medicines and real estate development, covered 25 premises in Delhi-NCR and Haryana.
