The existing 50-bedded secondary care hospital will be upgraded to a multi-specialty hospital in two phases for an estimated project cost of Rs. 48 crores. The project would be developed by the selected bidder under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
This Multispecialty hospital will offer a wide range of medical services with the capability to treat many different types of illnesses and conditions. The doctors will be specialists in their field and the state-of-the-art infrastructure and all amenities will ensure that patients get everything from emergency care, diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and OPD services under one roof.
Shri Sarbananda Sonowal said “ Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji has always reminded us that India is a nation where treatment is a service and wellness is charity, keeping this in mind I’m confident that this hospital will be a milestone in providing quality healthcare services to port employees, CISF personnel, their dependents and to the residents of Uran, Raigad district”
The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) is currently running 50-bedded hospital which offers medical aid not only to JNPA employees and their dependents, but also to patients from the nearby villages, emergency cases and individuals who are visiting the Port, related to port activities.
It is also the first Major Port which started the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana at its Hospital, to provide quality medicines to common masses at an affordable cost. This hospital already has a trauma care centre which is equipped to provide the best healthcare facilities to the people in the vicinity.
