Jharkhand Employees Health Scheme enables cashless treatment for all diseases at empanelled hospitals

Ranchi: Under the Jharkhand State Employees Health Insurance Scheme, beneficiaries will now be able to avail treatment for all diseases at any single empanelled hospital starting from the upcoming insurance year.
The new system is aimed at ensuring comprehensive, seamless, and cashless healthcare services for insured employees and their families. For the implementation of the revised arrangement, the Jharkhand State Arogya Society has invited a fresh tender.
According to a recent UNI report, in this connection, a pre-bid meeting was held at the Directorate Building in Namkum. The meeting was chaired by the Executive Director of Jharkhand State Arogya Society, Chhavi Ranjan. During the interaction, queries raised by participating insurance companies were discussed in detail, and it was informed that clarifications related to these queries would be uploaded on the official website within three days.
Addressing the meeting, Ranjan said that although the scheme was implemented in 2025, several complaints were received from beneficiaries regarding the non-availability of treatment for all diseases at a single hospital. To address this concern, the new system has been introduced. He assured that all necessary procedures would be completed before the commencement of the new insurance year.
Chhavi Ranjan further directed bidders to select only those hospitals that offer comprehensive medical facilities, reiterating that the primary objective of the scheme is to provide hassle-free, effective, accessible, and cashless treatment to beneficiaries.
It was informed that 237 hospitals located outside the state across the country have been identified for empanelment. Additionally, it will be mandatory for the selected insurance company to empanel 12 listed hospitals, where payments will be made at actual rates by the insurance company. These include CMC Vellore, Sankara Nethralaya, Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, AIG Hyderabad, all hospitals of the Tata Group, ILBS New Delhi, Apollo Hospital Chennai, Medanta Gurugram, National Heart Institute, Narayana Health Bengaluru, and BM Birla Hospital, reports UNI.
Apart from this, a comprehensive list of major hospitals within Jharkhand has been prepared, which the insurance company will be required to empanel mandatorily. These include CGHS-empanelled NABH-accredited hospitals, CGHS-empanelled non-NABH hospitals, NABH-accredited hospitals, and other major hospitals. Hospitals in neighbouring states have also been included to ensure that beneficiaries face no inconvenience and receive uninterrupted cashless healthcare services.
