Kolkata: 150-bedded Joint and Brain Care hospital in Sodepur
Kolkata: In the presence of MP Saugata Roy, a new Joint and Brain Care Hospital (JBCH) was inaugurated at Godrej Prakriti, Sodepur. This is the second hospital launched by the group after JBCH Saltlake. JBCH is also considered as the high-level super speciality Hospital in West Bengal specializing in Orthopedics.
The 150-bedded hospital aims to treat patients suffering from orthopaedic, neurological, gastroenterological and nephrological. The people living on the northern fringes of Kolkata will now get treatment at affordable rates in the hospital and won't have to travel far to get treatment.
Speaking on the occasion, Roy said that "It is sad to see that so many from Bengal have to go to other states for treatment. If you see the trains heading south, you will find hundreds of Bengalis heading for treatment. They cannot afford to get treated here in Bengal."

He further said that Kolkata still doesn't have a good knee replacement hospital and people have to travel to other states to get the surgery. Kolkata's health system will improve by building more hospitals and providing treatment at a low cost as money is also another issue for patients to leave the city for treatment.
Dr Joydeep Banerjee Choudhury, Director, Joint & Brain Care Hospital, Sodepur said "At JBCH our vision is to create centres of excellence which will push boundaries in clinical outcomes, applied research and advanced learning in medical science. We are not just another Hospital but an institution sensitive to the needs of society and looking to provide a healing touch. This will be an institution which will make all stakeholders proud."
