Massive fire breaks out at AIIMS Bhubaneswar Nursing College

Fire at Konni Medical College Hospital Sends Patients into Panic
Bhubaneswar- Panic broke out on Friday after a massive fire erupted in a laboratory on the fourth floor of the Nursing College building at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar.
The Bhubaneswar Fire Station was immediately alerted after the incident, and firefighting personnel arrived at the scene and began extinguishing the fire. Additional assistance was provided by teams from the SFF CR, Tamando Fire Station.
As the fire intensified, additional assistance was immediately sought from nearby fire stations. Teams from the Bhubaneswar Fire Service, Tamando Fire Station, and the in-house fire unit of AIIMS Bhubaneswar worked together on rescue and firefighting operations.
According to preliminary reports, furniture and other items inside the laboratory have been damaged in the incident. However, there are no reports of any injuries or fatalities.
Hundreds of nursing students had a narrow escape after firefighters launched the emergency operation. Many people present inside the building at the time of the incident were also safely evacuated.
Speaking to News18, an official has informed that the fire was brought under control and completely extinguished after several hours of concerted efforts. The official also noted that the timely action taken by emergency responders helped avert a major incident at a prominent healthcare and educational institution in the state.
Meanwhile, as per the AIIMS administration, there has been no major damage in the incident. A joint team from the concerned departments will assess the damage and conduct a detailed review of the causes of the fire. Following the incident, an inspection of the security arrangements and fire-fighting equipment within the hospital premises has also been initiated.
The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage to the property are not yet known. Officials have initiated an investigation, and a detailed assessment of the damage is expected once the inquiry is complete.
