Max Vaishali Hospital sealed after Oncologist tests corona positive, movement of doctors, staff restricted
Further, the staff movement have been restricted implying that the doctors and all other staff have to stay on the compound till they are tested for COVID-19.
New Delhi/Ghaziabad: Chaos ensued at the Max Hospital in Vaishali, here after an 37 year old oncologist associated with the hospital tested positive for coronavirus.
According to health officials, the doctor, a resident of Gyan Khand 2 in Indirapuram, works at Max Hospital. Both the hospital as well as the neighborhood area of Indirapuran are going to be declared as hotspots. The hospital has been sealed and disinfection drive is on. A team of Health Department has sanitised the entire area of Gyan Khand 2, while the family members including the doctor''s wife have been quarantined.
The doctor was first undergoing treatment at Max Hospital after testing positive for the dreaded virus but was later transferred to . The Health Department team is now trying to find out people who came in contact with the doctor and his family so that they could be quarantined at home as well.
The cancer specialist testing positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19), has taken the total number of infection in Ghaziabad to 32, officials said.
Following the incident, the authorities are going to declare Max Hospital in Vaishali as a hotspot and follow the protocol for hotspots. This means that the 350 bedded facility is now going to be sealed and no new patient will be admitted. Further with the sealing of the hospital no patients can be discharged
Further, the staff movement have been restricted implying that the doctors and all other staff have to stay on the compound till they are tested for COVID-19.
"The Vaishali hospital will be sealed and no new patient will be admitted there. We are in the process of preparing a list of doctors, staff and patients admitted there. All of them will remain inside the hospital," Chief Medical officer, Dr NK Gupta told TOI.
