Mohali Civil surgeon pulls up civil hospital staff over lack of cleanliness
Mohali: The Mohali Civil Hospital recently underwent an inspection on Monday by the newly appointed civil surgeon (CS) of the district, Mahesh Kumar Ahuja, who criticized the lack of cleanliness at the hospital.
He reportedly pulled up the sanitation workers of the hospital. Ahuja said that he gives utmost priority to providing better healthcare facilities to the people in the district.
He inspected the healthcare facilities and medical arrangements at the hospital. While looking at the record and availability of essential medicines and medical equipment, he asked the officials to ensure that the medicines are always stocked up at all times.
He also talked to the patients, doctors and other staff members of the hospital. The civil surgeon, as per a media report in the Times of India, asked the doctors to immediately attend to patients in emergency and start their treatment. He further asked them to provide better healthcare facilities to the people coming to the government hospitals so that they would not face any issues.
He said that only generic and other medicines available in the hospital pharmacy should be prescribed to patients so that they would not have to buy from private medical shops.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported another incident from the Mohali district regarding a case registered against the clinical director of a private hospital in the region. The police found the clinical director of the Indus International Hospital, Dera Bassi, to be the chairperson of the transplant authorisation board. Previously, two people, including the transplant coordinator of the private hospital, were booked by Dera Bassi police after almost 35 illegal kidney transplant incidents came to light which had been conducted over the last two years.
