Mumbai: JJ Hospital gets Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center
Mumbai: With an aim to treat poor and needy patients, the JJ hospital and medical college launched its first Pulmonary Rehabilitation Centre.
Pulmonary rehabilitation, also known as respiratory rehabilitation, is an important part of the management and health maintenance of people with chronic respiratory disease who remain symptomatic or continue to have decreased function despite standard medical treatment.
The hospital's Pulmonary Rehabilitation Centre aims at providing treatment to poor respiratory diseased patients at a low cost.

While talking with mid-day, Dr. Priti Meshram, head of the Respiratory Medicine department said, "The centre will help to treat post-COVID patients, patients with chronic lung diseases like COPD, Interstitial Lung Diseases, Bronchiectasis. Poor and needy patients who visit JJ hospital for treatment will be benefited and this would be a novel approach for holistic management of patients suffering from chronic respiratory diseases."
In a joint venture, the hospital's Dean Dr. Pallavi Saple inaugurated the center and Respiratory Foundation. The OPD will begin on Monday and will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2 pm to 4 pm.
