Nagpur: First district hospital at cost of Rs 28 crore to be completed in 2 months
Nagpur: The district's first multispecialty hospital in Mankapur at a cost of Rs 28 crores is expected to be completed in the next two months said Public Health Minister of Maharashtra Minister Rajesh Tope.
The fully equipped hospital will cater to the citizens of the district with better healthcare facilities. The three-storey building construction including the main building, warehouse office, electrification, wards, and offices has been completed. On the other hand, the healthcare equipment is left to be installed at the hospital.
The state government have allocated most of the funds to establish the hospital. However, patients suffering from cancer or any other serious illness will be able to avail the benefits at the hospital.

While speaking with The Hitavada, "We are trying to give the best healthcare facilities at this hospital. Normally, hospitals are developed but posts are not filled. But in the case of this district hospital, we have created 19 posts including 8 posts on regular basis and 11 posts of the people having specialized skills. Of these, posts of Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Senior Clerk, Statistician, and Public Health Nurse."
The medical staff working at the Public Health Department under Medical Education Department will be relieved as they will be able to shift to the district hospital after it gets functional.

Minister Tope visited the district on a one-day trip and also inspected the Regional Mental Hospital accompanied by Deputy Director Health Services Dr Sanjay Jaiswal, Civil Surgeon Dr Madhuri Thorat, Superintendent of Mental Hospital Dr Purushottam Madavi, Nationalist Congress Party city chief Duneshwar Pethe, Salil Deshmukh, Shailendra Tiwari, Rizwan Ansari, Ashwin Jhaveri and others.
While he was at the hospital, he interacted with the patients and their family members asking about the quality of facilities provided by the hospital. He also spoke with the hospital staff regarding the services provided to the patients.
