New 100-bed medicine ward opens at Patna's NMCH

Patna: Health Minister Mangal Pandey has inaugurated the new 100-bed medicine ward at Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH). The new ward was built at a cost of Rs 750 lakh.
The health minister said here on Saturday that the new ward has been constructed at an expenditure of Rs 750 lakh. The new ward would also solve the issue of waterlogging during the rainy season inside the ward.
According to the PTI report, the Minister said that remarkable achievements have been made in the health sector during the past 20 years in Bihar and added that with the addition of new 100 beds, the total strength of the bed in the medicine department of NMCH increased to 228.

He said that 400 beds would be further added in the medicine ward of the NMCH which has currently the capacity of 1189 beds. All required medical facilities were available at each and every bed, he said and informed that the responsibilities of cleanliness and food for the patients have been given to the Jivika didi following which the quality of services have improved.
The Minister said that in terms of the supply of medicines Bihar was continuously at the top for the past 8 months and informed that 496 types of medicines were available at NMCH.
Pandey said that Tuberculosis Treatment University was also being constructed in Kadamkuan of the state capital at an expenditure of Rs 204.44 crore, reports PTI.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the 1117 bed section in Towers 1 and 2 of the hospital building under the Patna Medical College and Hospital Redevelopment Project Phase 1. Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary were present alongside the Bihar CM at the event.
