New 50-bed critical care block to open at Dhalai District Hospital

New Critical Care Block
Agartala: In a major boost to healthcare access in Tripura’s tribal regions, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday announced the establishment of a 50-bed critical care block at Dhalai District Hospital under the PM-ABHIM scheme.
According to the news reports, officials said the initiative, estimated at Rs 23.75 crore, is designed to reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for critical treatment, bringing high-quality medical care closer to the people of Dhalai district. The state government has actively pursued the initiative to minimize dependence on distant medical centres, focusing on improving quality healthcare access at the district level.

Dr Saha pointed out that the availability of advanced medical support at Dhalai District Hospital will minimise the need to refer patients to Agartala for urgent or critical care. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his pivotal role in making the vision a reality, praising his commitment to expanding healthcare in the tribal areas of Tripura, reports UNI.
Officials said the new facility represents a significant step toward addressing healthcare disparities in the state, reflecting a collaborative effort to create a more inclusive and resilient medical infrastructure for all communities in Tripura.
