Nurse Uses Fevi Kwik Instead of Stitches on 7-year-old Boy’s Injuries at Karnataka PHC
Haveri: A nurse at the Adoor Primary Health Center in Hanagal taluk, Haveri district, is facing accusations of medical negligence after allegedly using "Fevi Kwik" adhesive to treat a seven-year-old boy's wound instead of sutures.
The incident, which occurred on January 14, came to light after the child’s family expressed concerns and recorded a video of the treatment.
While playing, the boy injured his cheek, prompting his family to rush him to the nearest health centre. However, rather than stitching the wound, the accused nurse allegedly used 'Fevi Kwik' glue to close it, assuring the family that it would prevent scarring.

As per the recent media report by Vartha Bharathi, when questioned by the boy’s family, the nurse reportedly defended her action, stating, "I treated the wound to the best of my knowledge. Stitches would have left a mark on his cheek, so I used ‘Fevi Kwik’only on the skin."
Despite her defence, the family, still uneasy about the method used, recorded a video of the incident, which soon garnered attention. The family subsequently filed a formal complaint with the Health Protection Committee of the Adoor Primary Health Center, seeking accountability for the nurse’s actions.
In response to the complaint, District Health Officer (DHO) Rajesh Suragiha has launched an inquiry into the matter. The DHO has ordered a detailed report on the matter to assess the nurse’s actions.
Speaking to Udayavani, he stated, “Applying adhesive to wounds is incorrect. We have issued a notice to the nurse after reviewing the video and instructed an inquiry. Disciplinary action will follow based on the report.”
