Paras Health Gurugram hosts Deepawali Mahotsav for over 500 Joint replacement patients

Gurugram: Paras Health Gurugram organized a wellness reunion program in the form of the ''Deepawali Mahotsav'', bringing together over 500 joint replacement patients to celebrate resilience and successful recoveries.
The event honoured patients’ determination while highlighting the importance of joint health, early diagnosis, and effective rehabilitation, providing a platform for doctors, patients, and caregivers to share insights and inspire proactive management of mobility and joint replacement wellbeing.
The Mahotsav featured case presentations by patients and doctors, offering insights into surgical procedures, rehabilitation strategies, and the role of structured exercise therapy in achieving optimal recovery. A felicitation ceremony recognized patients’ perseverance in overcoming joint challenges.
Recent findings from the WHO-COPCORD study indicated that over 195 million Indians, roughly one in six, suffered from arthritis-related pain, with women representing nearly two-thirds of cases. Arthritis had become the most commonly self-reported illness in Indian communities, surpassing even diabetes and hypertension.
Additionally, a national study published in BMC Geriatrics revealed that 47% of adults aged 45 and above experienced chronic joint pain, with over 31% reporting persistent back pain. These figures underscored the urgent need for early diagnosis, effective treatment, and public awareness to address India’s growing joint health challenge.
Dr Vivek Logani, Director, Paras Joint Replacement & Sports Injury Centre, said, “Joint disorders are increasingly affecting younger populations, making timely intervention crucial to prevent permanent disability. This Mahotsav provided an opportunity to share actionable knowledge on early diagnosis, precision surgery using cutting-edge technology, and physiotherapy, which are essential for restoring mobility and improving quality of life.”
Ms. Seema Vig, Zonal Director, Paras Health Gurugram, added, “Our efforts extended beyond hospital walls. By bringing together patients, caregivers, and medical experts in an interactive and educational setting, we aimed to demonstrate that joint pain could be effectively managed when addressed early, and full recovery was achievable with the right care.”
Through the Deepawali Mahotsav, Paras Health celebrated the achievements of recovered patients while reaffirming its commitment to holistic joint replacement care and long-term joint health. The event highlighted Paras Health’s consistent success in joint replacement surgeries over the past 12 years and its proven excellence in post-operative care and follow-up.
The hospital ensured that patients received structured physiotherapy, personalized monitoring, and ongoing guidance to restore mobility and maintain joint health. Through community engagement and awareness initiatives, the hospital continues to empower patients and promote proactive joint health management, setting a benchmark in joint replacement care across India.
