Puducherry: Lt Governor Tamilisai inspects Govt General Hospital, directs authorities to fix deficiencies in patient care

The government wants to provide all diagnostic and treatment facilities that are available in private hospitals in the government hospital."
Puducherry: During an inspection at the Puducherry Government General Hospital, Lt. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan said that patients should get better services and directed the hospital authorities to resolve the issues.
She first visited the patient's ward and communicated with all the patients asking about the services provided by the hospital. Taking note of the problems that the patients are experiencing at the hospital, she asked the authorities to resolve the issue at the earliest.
After that, she took stock of treatment facilities and the availability of medicines, stretchers, and ambulances. The Lt. Governor said the administration was committed to providing 24-hour medical services to the people, despite problems in the casualty wing.

To get an update on the functioning of all the medical colleges, she has planned to get a review of them on Monday. She said that all medical colleges will be investigated and rectified within three months if any deficiencies are found. She was accompanied by the Director of Health G. Sriramulu.
She told The Hindu "Steps would be taken to address the grievances of the public as there was no room for deficiency in care at government hospitals, which are the refuge of the underprivileged."
