Rs 2.38 crore Embezzlement: Odisha vigilance raids Angul Hospital Junior Assistant
ED Raids Doctor’s Residence in Vellore, CMC Operations Uninterrupted
Bhubaneswar: In a major anti-corruption operation, the Odisha Vigilance Department on Wednesday conducted simultaneous searches at five locations linked to a junior assistant of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Angul, in connection with the alleged misappropriation of government funds totalling Rs 2.38 crore.
The action relates to Cuttack Vigilance Police Station Case No. 06/2026, registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act against a Junior Assistant in the office of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Angul.

The raids targeted several locations linked to the Junior Assistant in the office of the Chief District Medical Officer including his triple-storey residential building located at Hakimpada in Angul town, his relative’s house at Bonda village under Nalco Nagar police limits, his ancestral house at Baunsapokhari in the Hindol area of Dhenkanal district, a rented residence of his cousin at Shree Vihar in Bhubaneswar, and his office chamber at the CDMO office in Angul.
During the operations, officials reportedly seized several crucial documents, including bank passbooks, bonds, and other financial records, which will be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Speaking to Odisha Tv, officials stated that the search operations were still underway and further details would be shared after completion of the investigation process. The case pertains to the alleged embezzlement of government funds, and further developments are awaited as the probe progresses.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a medical officer was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) wing of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh for referring patients to a private hospital.
