Ujala Cygnus Healthcare joins hands with 150-bedded Laxmi hospital in Varanasi
The Ujala Cygnus Group will upgrade the existing Laxmi Hospital into a multi-super-speciality hospital by providing world-class secondary and tertiary care facilities in Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Nephrology, and Critical Care units.
Varanasi: With a vision to enhance the healthcare ecosystem in small towns, the Ujala Cygnus Group of Hospitals has joined hands with Laxmi hospital. The existing Laxmi hospital will be named Cygnus Laxmi Hospital in Roadways Cantt, Varanasi.
Laxmi hospital is the first hospital in the city to have partnered with such a prestigious group. The press release of the group stated that "The Ujala Cygnus Group will upgrade the existing Laxmi Hospital into a multi-super-speciality hospital by providing world-class secondary and tertiary care facilities in Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Nephrology, and Critical Care units."
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shuchin Bajaj, Founder & Director, Ujala Cygnus Group of Hospitals said, "We are pleased to announce that we are collaborating with the prestigious Laxmi Hospital to provide high-quality treatment to the underserved sections of society at an affordable cost. We intend to transform the existing Laxmi Hospital into a multi-super speciality hospital unit with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities. The Ujala Cygnus Group of Hospitals will bring its healthcare expertise to the Cygnus Laxmi Hospital in Varanasi and manage its day-to-day operations. This move will assist us in providing secondary and tertiary care to the large population of Varanasi and surrounding areas."

Cygnus Medicare Private Limited is the only chain which is investing in bringing about a paradigm shift in the way healthcare is consumed in small towns of north India and this move will further strengthen groups' vision of creating a value-based healthcare chain providing world-class yet affordable medical facilities to these underserved areas. The organization now has 16 hospitals under its name with seven in Haryana, four in Uttar Pradesh, three in Uttarakhand two in Delhi and an upcoming one in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
A 12-bedded dedicated dialysis centre will be introduced at the Cygnus Laxmi Hospital. It will get a state-of-the-art radiology department, pharmacy, lab and ambulance services.

According to Dr Kulveer Vikram Singh, Unit Head of the group, the collaboration with Laxmi Hospital will strengthen their initiative to provide quality and affordable services in one of the most populous states. Now, people will have access to specialised treatment virtually at their doorstep, and they can put an end to the troubles of travelling and extra expense for better treatment in a metro city."
