Viral Video of Jharkhand Health Minister's son draws outrage over hospital inspections
Ranchi: Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari's son has come under public heat and landed in fresh controversy after a video of him visiting hospitals went viral on social media. The footage shows him inspecting the government-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi and Paras Hospital on two separate occasions, accompanied by a group of friends.
The visits have drawn widespread criticism, as he has been accused of visiting hospitals without holding any official post or medical qualification, meeting patients, checking medical records, and making reels. Internet users have slammed his actions as a violation of patient privacy, an abuse of power, and a mockery of the healthcare system.
The incident has sparked outrage from both the medical community and the general public, who questioned his authority to conduct such inspections, duties typically reserved for authorised officials. The minister's son has been criticised for violating government norms to serve a personal agenda rather than any public interest.

In a 36-second video, the minister’s son can allegedly be seen entering RIMS and asking patients and their attendants, “Koi taqleef hai aapko? Agar hai to details share kar dijiye" (Is anyone facing any issues? If yes, please share the details).
One of his friends is also heard saying, “Koi taqleef hai to batayiye, mantri ji ke bete aaye hue hain, bade bete" (If there’s any issue, please speak up. The minister’s son is here—the elder son).
In a separate clip attached to the original video, he is seen visiting Paras Hospital, where he termed a patient’s bill as “invalid” and was allegedly seen questioning doctors and hospital staff inside the wards.
After inspecting the hospitals along with his friends, he uploaded the video on social media which not only drew sharp criticism from the public, the medical community, but also the opposition, who questioned what official authority the minister's son held to conduct such visits to a medical institution.
Amid mounting backlash, he deleted the video from his Instagram account, but it was too late since many doctors and social media users re-uploaded the video on their social media handles with a caption in the video, "He is ***. Without any official post or medical qualification, the Health Minister’s son is inspecting doctors, checking patient records, and roaming hospitals like an authority. What a joke our system has become."
In response to the controversy, Minister Irfan Ansari told IANS, "My son,, You know he is full of compassion and always wants to help others. His teacher at DPS, Abhishek ji—his mother or father, was ill. I was in Delhi at the time. As a teacher and a guru, when this came to my son’s attention, he responded. There were also other patients from our tribal communities in Jamtara and Dumka. Our Adivasi people always look to us with hope, and he took money even from his mother to help the poor and did so genuinely..."
