Viral video shows 4 on-duty cops sleeping on patient beds at Sidhi Hospital, suspended

Four Policemen Suspended After Viral Hospital Video
Bhopal: The District Hospital in Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh, has come under scrutiny after a shocking video surfaced showing four police personnel allegedly engaging in extremely inappropriate behaviour while on duty.
According to the news reports, the video, which went viral on social media on April 13, purportedly shows the policemen sleeping on a patient’s bed inside the hospital premises and behaving in an inappropriate manner, including urinating in a dustbin. Their uniforms were reportedly seen hanging nearby, raising questions about their conduct while on duty.

The policemen were deployed to guard an undertrial prisoner admitted to the district hospital on March 28. The team was led by an Assistant Sub-Inspector, along with three constables.
An internal inquiry confirmed their misconduct occurred under the influence of alcohol. The probe also pointed to a lack of proper supervision by the officer-in-charge, reports TOI.
In response to the findings, the Sidhi police administration suspended all four policemen on charges of gross indiscipline, negligence of duty, and tarnishing the image of the police department. During their suspension period, the officers have been attached to the reserve police centre in Sidhi and instructed to follow departmental procedures.
The incident has triggered public concern and debate over professional conduct within law enforcement, especially in sensitive environments such as hospitals.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a doctor at Nayagarh district headquarters hospital (DHH) had come under public scrutiny after a video allegedly showing him shouting at patients went viral on social media. An inquiry has been initiated after the doctor was accused of verbally abusing patients, intimidating them and behaving inappropriately with patients and hospital staff. The incident came to light on Wednesday when patients visiting the hospital for treatment were reportedly shouted at and threatened with aggressive gestures by the doctor.
