India Live 2025: Cardiologists Stress AI and imaging for transforming heart health in India

Mumbai: As cardiovascular diseases (CVD) continue to rise in India, the demand for innovative solutions in interventional cardiology is growing.
The 14th India Live National Conference, held from March 21-23, 2025, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, brought together healthcare professionals from around the globe to discuss advancements in heart care. This conference highlighted how cutting-edge imaging technologies and AI-driven tools are revolutionizing cardiovascular disease management and enhancing patient outcomes.
Interventional cardiology has seen remarkable progress in recent years. The future of heart care is driven by AI-powered imaging and digital health solutions, enabling more proactive and precise treatments. These innovations offer safer, more effective options, enhancing patient outcomes and broadening access to life-saving care for those with cardiovascular diseases. As these advancements continue, they promise to transform patients' lives.
Dr. A. B. Mehta, Director of Cardiology at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai, highlighted the challenges in cardiology and the role of advanced imaging techniques. He stated, "cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. In India, we're seeing more cases of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) and coronary artery disease (CAD), especially among younger people. This increase is mainly due to lifestyle changes, high stress levels, and the rise in metabolic disorders like diabetes and hypertension. These conditions place a heavy burden on our healthcare system and affect millions of lives."
Dr. Mehta continued, "Image-guided catheterization techniques, such as AI-enabled Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), are crucial for improving the precision of procedures. They help ensure better long-term outcomes with fewer complications. As cardiovascular conditions continue to rise, adopting these advanced technologies is essential for enhancing care and reducing the strain on healthcare systems. These innovations provide more accurate insights into arterial blockages and structural abnormalities, allowing healthcare professionals to create targeted treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs."
As the India Live National Conference 2025 wrapped up, it became evident that technological advancements are revolutionizing cardiology in India. AI-driven imaging and minimally invasive procedures are transforming heart care, enabling doctors to provide superior treatment, shorten recovery times, and minimize risks.
These innovations are significantly enhancing patient outcomes across the country, heralding a new era in cardiovascular care. The aim of the India Live 2025 Cardiology Conference is to advance cardiovascular care by promoting procedural expertise, knowledge exchange, and indigenous research.
