Jalandhar: Two nurses attacked with sharp weapon, one dead and another sustained injuries
Jalandhar: Days after a nurse was found murdered and another was seriously injured by two armed youths who stormed into the hostel of Pearl Hospital at Green Model Town, the crime took place over a fight between the accused and the nurse who were reported to be lovers.
The incident took place on Thursday around 2.30 AM when two youths carrying swords entered the hostel located on the third floor of the hospital and attacked the nurses. Both of them fled the spot after the attack, as per the Tribune.

One of the nurses, Baljinder Kaur, a resident of Beas died on the spot, whereas the other nurse, Jyoti of Phagwara reportedly sustained injuries and is in critical condition. Both of them were sleeping when the attack took place. The hospital staff had mentioned that Jyoti didn't come to work on Wednesday because she was unwell. Both were found in a pool of blood when one nurse went to check on them. The hospital staff immediately informed the police about the incident, and they were rushed to the hospital.
The accused have been identified as Satguru Singh, a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib. The Police Commissioner Jalandhar, Gursharan Singh Sandhu said that Satguru was arrested from Nagar Council office in Fatehgarh Sahib on late Thursday evening by the police team of CIA Staff led by DCP Investigation Jaskiranjit Singh Teja, DCP City Jagjit Singh Saroya and other senior officials.
According to the commissioner, the accused said that he met Baljinder four months back through the social media platform, Facebook following which they began talking to each other and began giving gifts to each other. Sandhu told The Tribune "Recently, both fought over something, following which, Satguru in a fit of rage planned to kill Baljinder." The accused came to Jalandhar through train and did recce of the spot two hours before committing the crime.
Sandhu said, "He entered the hospital by scaling the wall and went straight to Baljinder's room. He attacked Baljinder with a knife, and when Jyoti, another nurse who was present in the room, tried to stop him, he attacked her too." DCP Jaskiranjit Singh Teja said that the police recovered the weapon used in the crime from an empty plot near the hospital.
The commissioner noted that Jyoti, the other nurse who was admitted with critical injuries is currently stable. He said, "A case under sections 302, 307, and 120B of the IPC has been registered against the accused."
