New Delhi- The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has started the registration of Formative Assessment Test (FAT) for DNB, DrNB, FNB, Diploma trainees.

Registration of NBEMS trainees for FAT-2023 can be done only by their NBEMS-recognised training institute through the following weblink on the NBEMS official website, the official notice stated.

Further, candidates are urged to refer to the Information Bulletin on the NBEMS website for eligibility criteria, fee structure, scheme of examination and other details.

FAT for 2023 is scheduled to be held on June 9, 2024, where Paper I will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and Paper II will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Any exemption from the Theory Examination shall have to be informed by the accredited institute/hospital to NBEMS before the conduct of the examination with all relevant supporting documents. The exemption shall be decided by the NBEMS on the merit of the case.

It is to be noted that, Excluding payment gateway charges, as may be applicable.

HOW TO PAY

The prescribed exam fee should be remitted through the payment gateway provided using any of the following modes-

1 Credit Card/ Debit Card.

2 Internet Baking.

3 BHIM UPI.

4 NEFT (For Non SBI Account Holders only).

5 SBI Branch Payment (For SBI Account Holders only).

It is to be noted that, payment made through any other mode/to any other account of NBEMS (other than the specified account) shall not be accepted.

PAYMENT OF FEES

i NEFT (FOR NON-SBI ACCOUNT HOLDERS ONLY)- Enter your contact details and a challan shall be generated containing the Account details in which the fees is to be deposited.

ii SBI BRANCH PAYMENT ( (FOR SBI ACCOUNT HOLDERS ONLY)- Enter your contact details and a challan shall be generated containing the Challan number which can be used to deposit the fees at an SBI Bank only.

DOWNLOAD RECEIPT

On successful submission of fees, the hospitals shall be able to download the Fee Submission Receipt from the Portal only.

IMPORTANT POINTS

1 The Application forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of the application fee will not be entertained after the successful submission of the application.

2 The fees for Formative Assessment have to be deposited by NBEMS accredited institutions only and are not to be charged from the Trainees as it has already been submitted by them as a part of Annual Academic Fees to their institution.

3 Examination fees in respect of candidates who are absent or declared ineligible due to any reason will be forfeited. Institutions are advised to read the rule position carefully and satisfy the terms and conditions for the fulfilment of eligibility criteria before proceeding with payment of fees.

ELIGIBILITY FOR FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT TEST

The following admission sessions are eligible to appear for Formative Assessment Test 2023-

Appearance in the minimum required numbers of Formative Assessment Tests/ Internal Appraisals is mandatory towards eligibility for appearing in DNB/DrNB/ FNB/ NBEMS Diploma Final Examinations as per the below-prescribed scheme-

IMPORTANT POINTS

1 Candidates who are scheduled to appear in upcoming DNB/DrNB/FNB/ NBEMS Diploma Final Exit Examinations and do not fulfil the criteria on minimum appearance in FAT/ Internal Appraisals may also be registered by their training institute for FAT 2023.

2 NBEMS trainees who have not appeared in FAT 2022 conducted on 18 June 2023 due to any reasons whatsoever, can request their training institute to register themselves for participation in FAT to be conducted on 9 th June 2024.

3 The compulsory participation in FATs shall apply to the candidates, who join in or after July 2019 admission session.

INSTRUCTIONS TO FILL REGISTRATION FORM FOR FAT

The following steps shall be required to be completed in sequence for application submission to NBE-

1 REGISTRATION OF HOSPITAL FOR FAT

i The Accredited hospital shall register themselves for FAT through the following website: https://www.natboard.edu.in/fat/index and click on “Registration of Trainees for FAT” and then on “REGISTER” in the next window.

ii The hospital shall select their Hospital state & Name from the available dropdown and enter the following details-

a Hospital Code (Provided by NBEMS by mail to the Single Point Of Contact (SPOC)).

b SPOC name, Mobile number & email ID in the registration form would be displayed after successful verification of selected hospital details.

iii After OTP validation the hospital shall receive their user credentials via SMS & email containing UserID & password to log into the FAT Portal and submit their application form. This UserID is applicable only for submission of FAT applications.

2 LOGIN INTO THE APPLICATION FORM FOR FAT

i After successful registration the Accredited hospital can log in to the FAT Portal through the website click on Registration of Trainees for FAT” and then on to the next window.

ii On the Login page the hospital shall enter the UserID & password received by email & SMS to enter in the FAT Application portal.

iii After login you shall be able to see the details entered by you at the time of registration.

iv After checking the details, you shall be required to click on the “CANDIDATE DETAILS” tab provided at the top wherein you shall be able to see the list of Trainees eligible for FAT.

v After verifying the list of trainees, you shall be required to click on the “Payment” tab provided at the top. After that click on the “+” symbol at the top right corner.

vi On this page the candidates are required to-

a Select the final list of candidates by ticking the check box provided.

b In case you do not wish to select any trainees for FAT mention the reason against him/ her for nonselection.

c Go through the declaration given below the list of candidates.

d Click on “I Agree” and then click on “Proceed to Payment”.

IMPORTANT POINTS

1 Registration to appear for Formative Assessment can only be submitted online through the NBEMS official website. There is no other method for application submission. Application submitted through any other mode shall be summarily rejected.

2 It is recommended to use Internet Explorer (version 11) or Mozilla Firefox (version 48 to 60) or Google Chrome (version 50 to 66) to fill in the Application Form. For filling out the application, it is recommended that the candidate should use a proper LAN / Internet Connection and clear the browser cache and history before filling up the application form.

ADMIT CARD FOR THEORY EXAMINATION

The Trainee(S) shall appear at the exam centre with one of the following original and valid/non-expired ID proof along with the admit card-

1 PAN Card.

2 Driving License.

3 Voter ID.

4 Passport.

5 Aadhaar Card (with Photograph).

RESULT FOR FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT TEST

1 The result of the Formative Assessment shall be declared after the completion of the activity of Work Place Based Clinical Assessment.

2 The results of both Theory Examination and Work Place Based Clinical Assessment shall be declared together and not separately.

3 The result of DNB Trainees shall be sent to the Head of Institute of their respective Training Institution.

4 The result shall also be sent to each Trainee individually on their registered email ID.

5 After the declaration of the result, evaluated Answer sheets of the Theory Examination will be sent to the Training institutions of the respective Trainees.

6 On receipt of the result and evaluated answer sheets, the institutions shall conduct Performance Counselling Sessions like Seminars/Group Discussions in each Specialty to appraise the trainees about their performance and help them to enhance their knowledge & skills so that they can plan & attempt the DNB Theory Examination effectively.
