NBE gives one time exception to DNB traniees, extends Last Date For Submission Of Thesis
New Delhi: Through a recent notification, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has informed regarding the extension of the last date for submission of the Thesis by DNB trainees who are eligible to appear in the DNB Final Theory Examination December 2020, as a 'one-time exception'.
Earlier, in the light of the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, the date was extended till 15th October but after receiving several requests from the doctors, the Natboard has now extended the last submission date to 15th December 2020.
All the concerned DNB trainees and Accredited Institutions are hereby requested to view the concerned details of the said notice uploaded on the official website of NBE as mentioned below:
As per NBE norms, writing a Thesis is essential for all DNB trainees towards the partial fulfilment of eligibility for award of the Diplomate National Board (DNB) degree.
DNB trainees who are eligible to appear in the DNB Final Theory Examination- December 2020 were to submit their Theses by the 30th of June 2020. However, in view of COVID-19 pandemic the last date for submission of Thesis was extended by 3 months i.e. till the 30th of September, 2020, and thereafter till the 15th of October 2020, as a 'Special Case'.
Meanwhile, NBE has been receiving numerous requests both from DNB trainees and NBE Accredited institutions to further extend the last date for submission of Thesis, as trainees have not been able to complete their Thesis writing due to the COVID-19 national lockdown, the NBE stated.
In the light of the above, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the last date for submission of Thesis by DNB trainees who are eligible to appear in the DNB Final Theory Examination - December 2020 is extended for the third time, by a period of two months i.e. till the 15th of December, 2020, as a 'one-time exception'.
All DNB trainees and Accredited Hospitals are informed that, no further extension shall be given, and those trainees who do not submit their Theses by the 15th of December, 2020 shall be rendered 'ineligible' to appear in the DNB Final Theory Examination - December 2020. The online submission portal shall be 'locked' for such candidates w.e.f. 16th of December, 2020.
The last date for submission of Thesis Protocol documents, which is 90 days from the date of admission, is also extended till the 15th of December, 2020.
