NBE informs about conduct of NEET SS 2020
New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has informed the conduct of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality courses for this academic year (NEET SS 2020). This entrance exam is the gateway to DM and MCh courses in the country.
The NEET SS is conducted by NBE as per the schedule of admissions notified in Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER), 2000. NEET-SS is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various DM/MCh courses as per the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Act, 2016.
No other entrance examination, either at the state or the Institution level, shall be valid for entry to DM/MCh courses as per the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Act, 2016 w.e.f. 2017 admission session. Qualifying NEET-SS is mandatory for entry to DM/MCh courses under various Universities/ Institutions in the country.
The concerned candidates desirous of appearing in NEET SS 2020 are requested to view the below-mentioned details of the said notice as uploaded by the NBE on its official website:
It is notified that in view of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the exit examinations of MD, MS and DNB Broad Specialty candidates have been deferred across the country. Therefore, their Final Examinations results are also unlikely to be declared by 15th July 2020 which is the cutoff date as per existing regulations to qualify MD/MS/DNB Broad Specialty exit exam for being eligible to appear in NEET SS of the respective admission year.
Due to the above circumstances, the NEET SS - 2020 is, therefore, unlikely to be conducted in July/August 2020.
The schedule for conduct of NEET-SS 2020 shall be published in due course on NBE website www.natboard.edu.in in line with the PGMER, 2000.

The responsibility of NBE is limited to the conduct of NEET-SS, declaration of the result and handling of the result to MCC, DGHS & to MoHFW. NBE has no role in counseling and allotment ofseats. Document verification and eligibility determination shall be undertaken at the time of counseling/ admission process.
