NEET PG 2020 Result Synopsis: Maximum qualifiers from Tamil Nadu; maximum non-qualifiers from Maharashtra
New Delhi: With the results of NEET PG 2020 being declared, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has released the synopsis of the results of this year's exam which indicates that the maximum number of students who have successfully qualified the exam are from Tamil Nadu while Maharashtra saw the least number of qualifiers.
Aspirants after the conduction of the exam had confirmed that this year's NEET PG 2020 paper was much tougher than the previous year's one
The synopsis lays down the distribution of results as per state, category, gender also highlighting how many students appeared for the exam at how many centres. This year 1,67,102 medicos applied for the exam while 1,60,888 appeared on the day on the NEET PG exam.
NBE has conducted NEET-PG 2020 on 05/01/2020 in 169 cities across the country on a computer-based platform. NEET-PG is the only eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to all PG Medical courses in the country.

In total, of the appeared 1,60,888, only 89549 passed NEET PG 2020.
This year saw maximum numbers of exam takers in the state of Tamil Nadu with 18,854 medicos appearing for the exam of which 11681 passed which is the highest number of qualifiers from all the states. When it comes to the maximum number of failures, 8,376 failed from the applied 17,208 in Maharashtra.
The number of qualifiers this year from the state of Karnataka was 9,792 from the 16806. From Uttar Pradesh, 4,957 medicos have acquired passing scores while 6,361 failed. Over 11,635 applied in Andhra Pradesh, of whom only 6600.
The following medical post-graduate seats shall be filled utilizing the merit list of NEET-PG:
• All India 50% quota seats
• Institutions of central Govt.
• Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions
• Universities established by an Act of Parliament
• Deemed universities
• State quota seats
• Seats in private medical colleges
• Institutions established by State Govt. or by an Act of State
• Post –MBBS DNB Seats
The admission to PG courses in following medical Institutions is not covered by NEET- PG:
• AIIMS, New Delhi and other AIIMS
• PGIMER, Chandigarh
• JIPMER, Puducherry
• NIMHANS, Bengaluru
• Sree Chitra Triunal Institute for Medical Science and Technology, Trivandrum

The role of NBE is to conduct NEET-PG and declared the result in accordance with qualifying criteria and hand over the result to the Central Govt.
Candidature of the candidates is purely provisional subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as mentioned in NEET –PG 2020 Information Bulletin. The Merit position for All India 50% quota seats shall be declared by NBE Separately. The merit list/category wise merit list for State quota seats shall be generated by the States /UT as per their qualifying/eligibility criteria, applicable Guidelines/Regulations & reservation policy.
