AstraZeneca Gets Delhi HC Relief in Rs 151 Crore NPPA Overcharging Case

The company challenged the demand before the Delhi High Court. According to its latest disclosure, the court has directed that no coercive steps be taken by NPPA in the matter until the next hearing, listed for January 11, 2027.
The company received the High Court’s order on October 30, 2026.
Explaining the financial implications in Annexure A to the filing, AstraZeneca stated that the order prevents NPPA from taking coercive steps until the next hearing to recover approximately ₹151,19,66,035. This amount comprises the alleged overcharged sum and interest calculated up to October 30, 2026.
The disclosed direction provides protection against coercive recovery until the next hearing; it does not record a final determination of the overcharging allegations or cancellation of the demand.
