Aurobindo Pharma Transfers Domestic Branded Generics Business to Wholly Owned Arm Auropharm

New Delhi: Aurobindo Pharma Limited has completed the transfer of its domestic branded generic pharmaceutical formulations products business to Auropharm Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary, following the completion of the terms of the Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) executed between the two entities.
According to the filing, the latest update is in continuation of the company's earlier disclosure dated April 6, 2026, wherein it had informed the stock exchanges that it had entered into a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) with Auropharm Limited—formerly known as Auro Pharma Limited—for the transfer of its domestic branded generic pharmaceutical formulations products business.
The company stated that the business transfer was structured as a going concern on a slump sale basis, under which the domestic branded generic pharmaceutical formulations products business was proposed to be transferred from Aurobindo Pharma Limited to Auropharm Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.
Aurobindo Pharma has now informed that all the terms of the Business Transfer Agreement have been completed, resulting in the successful transfer of the business. Consequently, the company stated that the domestic branded generic pharmaceutical formulations products business is being undertaken by Auropharm Limited with effect from July 1, 2026.
According to the Aurobindo Pharma regulatory filing, the completion of the Business Transfer Agreement marks the formal transfer of the company's domestic branded generic pharmaceutical formulations products business to Auropharm Limited, enabling the wholly owned subsidiary to undertake the business from July 1, 2026. The filing reiterates that the transfer has been completed as a going concern on a slump sale basis in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
