CDSCO Introduces QR Code System for Streamlined Visitor Entry

New Delhi: The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has launched a new QR code-based online appointment system to simplify the process of visiting its headquarters at FDA Bhawan, New Delhi. This digital initiative aims to streamline visitor entry by allowing individuals to pre-book their appointments through a quick and accessible platform.
According to CDSCO, visitors can now schedule appointments by scanning an official QR code displayed prominently at the FDA Bhawan premises. Once scanned using a smartphone camera or QR code scanner app, the user is redirected to a secure online form. The form collects essential information including the visitor's name, designation, company or organization details, contact number, and the purpose of the visit. Visitors are also required to select their preferred date and time slot from the options available on the system.
After filling out and submitting the form, an appointment confirmation is generated. This confirmation is used to facilitate the issuance of a visitor pass on the day of the appointment. CDSCO has specified that all visitors must carry a valid ID proof, which will be verified at the security desk before the gate pass is issued. The submitted appointment details will be readily available at the entrance to ensure a smooth and efficient entry process.
The system, as shared in the official communication, is intended to enhance the coordination of visits and better manage footfall at one of India’s busiest regulatory offices. It also replaces the traditional manual walk-in entry process, which often involved longer wait times and additional paperwork. By moving to a structured and digital booking mechanism, CDSCO aims to ensure better security and organization without compromising on accessibility.
Visitors are advised to ensure accuracy while filling in the form and to carry the appropriate identification on the day of the appointment to avoid delays or entry issues.
