Chhattisgarh Pharma Firm Slapped Recall Notice Over Defective Paracetamol Tablets
Chhattisgarh: A Mahasamund-based pharma firm, 9M India Ltd., has been issued a formal notice by the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSCL), after serious defects were identified in a consignment of paracetamol tablets supplied to government health facilities.
As per recent Amar Ujala report, following complaints from CGMSCL’s drug warehouses and health units, quality testing was conducted on 500 mg and 650 mg tablets manufactured in 2024. Laboratory analysis confirmed that the tablets were of compromised quality, with black spots observed on the surface, rendering them unfit for human consumption.
In response, CGMSCL has directed the company to recall all affected batches immediately and ensure replacement with new stock that meets prescribed quality standards, reports Amar Ujala.
The corporation also warned that non-compliance with these instructions will attract strict action under tender regulations, with the company held fully accountable for any public health risks.
