DoP Extends PLI Deadline for Domestic Manufacturing of APIs, KSMs Till January 16, 2026

New Delhi: The Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, has extended the deadline for submission of applications under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Promotion of Domestic Manufacturing of Critical Key Starting Materials (KSMs), Drug Intermediates (DIs) and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) till January 16, 2026, through an official notice dated 26 December 2025, while clarifying that all other conditions mentioned in the earlier notice dated 26 November 2025 will remain unchanged.
The extension has been announced by the Department of Pharmaceuticals to provide additional time to eligible applicants to submit their proposals under the PLI scheme aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities in the bulk drugs sector and reducing import dependence.
As per the notice, eligible applicants are required to submit their applications through online mode only, using the designated portal plibulkdrugs.ifciltd.com. The Department has also informed that the detailed scheme guidelines and corrigendum are available on its official website for reference by applicants.
The communication further states that the extension follows the earlier notice issued on 26 November 2025 on the same subject. Except for the revised deadline, no changes have been made to the eligibility criteria, application process, or other scheme-related conditions.
The notice has been issued under file number 31026/16/2020-Policy and has been signed by Dharmendra Kumar Yadav, Under Secretary to the Government of India. Official contact details, including telephone number and email address, have been provided in the notice for any clarification related to the scheme.
The notice has been addressed to API manufacturers and eligible industries under the PLI scheme. Copies of the communication have also been forwarded to IFCI Limited with directions to keep the application window open for 30 days from 27 November 2025, and to the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for uploading the notice on the Department of Pharmaceuticals’ website.
