Jaunpur: A final-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) student, who was on his way to take an examination, was fatally stabbed to death by the father of a girl he was in a relationship with, police said.
The incident occured near Samadhganj Bazaar under Sikrara police station limits here.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Atish Kumar Singh, the victim, Anuj Yadav (22), hailed from Chhitara (Jamalpur) village in Machhlishahr. He was attacked near Kurani Panchayat Bhawan on the Jaunpur-Rae Bareli highway, allegedly by Manoj Yadav, the father of a girl Anuj was in a relationship with.
Manoj Yadav stabbed Anuj multiple times in the neck. Allegedly enraged by the relationship, he targeted the student while he was in route to take his exam.
As per PTI report, police reached the spot after being alerted by locals and took custody of the body. They later arrested Manoj, who confessed to the crime.
