Gurugram Pharma Manager Arrested in Rs1.5 Crore Fake Billing, Stock Fraud Case
Gurugram: A manager of a pharmaceutical company has been arrested by Gurugram Police in connection with an alleged Rs 1.5 crore fraud involving fake invoices, stock manipulation, and tampering of company records, with investigators suspecting the involvement of more employees in the racket.
The accused, identified as Santosh Giri, was arrested from Faridabad following an investigation conducted by the Economic Offences Wing-1 after a complaint was filed by IB Pharma Pvt Ltd. Police said the case revolves around alleged fraudulent activities carried out through manipulation of billing systems and inventory records.
According to investigators, the complaint was lodged on October 17, 2025, alleging that employees working in the billing and purchase departments were involved in a coordinated scheme to generate fake invoices and alter stock records within the company’s system.
Police officials stated that the accused and his associates allegedly misused their access to internal systems to manipulate inventory data. Fake entries were reportedly created to show movement of stock on records, while medicines were allegedly diverted and sold outside authorised distribution channels without company approval.
Investigators stated that Santosh Giri, 39, a resident of Tajpur Badarpur in Delhi, had worked with the company from 2016 to 2024. During his tenure, he reportedly handled managerial and HR-related responsibilities, which allegedly provided him access to sensitive operational systems and company data.
Police further alleged that fake purchase orders and corresponding invoices were generated to make the transactions appear legitimate, while the goods were allegedly siphoned off and sold in the open market.
An FIR in the matter was initially registered at DLF Sector-29 Police Station under charges related to cheating, forgery, and criminal breach of trust. The case was later transferred to the Economic Offences Wing for detailed financial scrutiny and digital forensic examination.
The420.in reports that the investigators are examining warehouse logs, digital access records, financial transactions, and communication trails to identify the full network involved and trace the beneficiaries of the alleged fraud.
As per the police, the accused was produced before a local court after his arrest, and further investigation is underway, with more arrests likely as authorities probe deeper into the case.
