Harsh V Trehan named CHRO, Executive Vice President at GSK India

Mumbai: Harsh V. Trehan has been named as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Executive Vice President at GSK India, Mumbai.
In this new leadership role, Trehan will work closely with Bhushan Akshikar, Tomo Yashiki, India Leadership Team and lead the Human Resources function for GSK India's pharmaceutical business.
Trehan joined GSK in 2021 as People Services Lead at GSK Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru.
Reflecting on his journey, Trehan shared in a LinkedIn post, "Reflecting on the last four years, my time at GSK Global Capability Centre in Bangalore has been an incredibly rewarding and gratifying experience Together with a high-performing, enterprise-minded HR team and HR colleagues across COE, People Services and embedded HR teams, we were able to create world-class HR capabilities that delivered significant impact across global HR programs. By focusing on employee experience, operational efficiency, and effectiveness, we were able to drive transformation and innovation in HR process for GSK worldwide. I would like to thank the amazing People Services Team in GCC and our hubs, and my leadership team Chetana Musale, Avinash Vijayan, Madhu Somanadhan, Alok Dubey & Kundan Kumar for their leadership, dedication, creativity, collaboration and above all their trust in me."
He also expressed gratitude to his colleagues and mentors, noting the role they played in shaping his leadership. He said, " I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with amazing leaders and being mentored and coached by them. Thank you Stuart Hepburn, Magnus Hibbert, Allen Powley, Steve McGuire & Marianne Davies for believing and trusting in me. Your encouragement and guidance helped me excel & sharpen my capabilities for this next phase of growth and contribution."
Before joining GSK, Trehan served as Chief People Officer at Compass Group India for more than 7 years. He also worked at BAE Systems, and spent more than a decade at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd. (2001–2011), holding various HR roles. He began his career at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.
He holds a Masters degree in Personnel Management, Human Resources from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.
