Himalaya Promotes Vikas Bansi to Lead Expanded Healthcare Business for Pharma and OTC

New Delhi: Himalaya Wellness Company has appointed Vikas Bansi as Director of its Healthcare Business for the Pharma and OTC Division, marking a strategic leadership shift aimed at integrating the company's pharmaceutical and consumer health operations.
Bansi, who previously served as Business Director of the OTC division, has been elevated to lead the combined healthcare business in line with Himalaya’s evolving “One Healthcare” approach, which seeks to bridge medical science with everyday wellness and create a cohesive continuum of care across prevention and treatment.
He joined Himalaya in May 2022 and played a pivotal role in building and scaling the OTC business, enhancing market penetration and strengthening trade partnerships. His deep understanding of both consumer dynamics and the pharmaceutical landscape, along with a strong execution track record, positioned him to take charge of the broader healthcare business.
In his new role, Bansi will oversee the unified Pharma and OTC division, leveraging Himalaya’s scientific research capabilities to expand consumer-centric brands while deepening the reach of its pharmaceutical offerings. The strategic alignment aims to respond more effectively to India’s dynamic healthcare needs by delivering credible, science-backed solutions that are accessible to households across the country.

Commenting on his new role, Bansi told MediaNews4U, "By bringing together our OTC and Pharmaceutical strengths, we are building a more cohesive healthcare ecosystem that seamlessly connects medical science with everyday wellness. This synergy will enable us to address India’s dynamic healthcare requirements with greater insight and impact. Today’s healthcare journey is continuous, and consumers seek credible, science-backed solutions across the spectrum of prevention and treatment. One Healthcare empowers us to offer that continuum of care, ensuring our products are both clinically informed and readily available to households."
Bansi brings over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare sectors. Prior to joining Himalaya, he held leadership roles across sales, marketing, and business strategy functions at leading healthcare organizations, building expertise in brand development, market expansion, and integrated commercial operations. His career trajectory reflects a strong focus on driving growth in both regulated pharma markets and fast-moving consumer health segments.
