Lucknow: Drugs worth Rs 2 crore seized from railway station
Lucknow: In a joint operation by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) at the Charbagh railway station, drugs worth about Rs 2 crore were seized on Saturday.
The operation resulted in the seizure of banned drug oxytocin, valued at ₹1,93,73,904, which was allegedly being smuggled from Bihar via railway parcel. Acting on a tip-off, authorities discovered that a large consignment of oxytocin in packets had arrived in Lucknow from Chhapra on train number 15053. A search of the parcel house led to the recovery of 38 packets containing the prohibited drug.
A case has been registered against two namely Santosh Singh, a resident of Telpa in Bihar's Chhapra district, and Ram Lotan, a resident of Chandi in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, as per GRP.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Drugs Control Administration,Telangana, had seized the overpriced antibiotic 'Mupigrer Ointment' (Mupirocin Ointment IP 2% w/w) during a raid at the manufacturing unit Medzine Life Sciences, located at ALEAP Industrial Estate, Gajularamaram, Medchal-Malkajgiri District.
