Masina Hospital appoints Dr Akash Rajpal as Chief Operating Officer
Mumbai: Masina Hospital recently announced the appointment of Dr Akash Rajpal as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Bringing over 25 years of diverse healthcare leadership experience, Dr Rajpal will play a pivotal role in steering the hospital’s ambitious growth plans while ensuring operational excellence and high-quality patient care.
Dr Rajpal, an IIM Calcutta alumnus, has held leadership roles at prestigious hospitals & healthcare organizations, including COO & EVP positions, where he successfully led operations, digital transformation, and profitability improvements. Notably, he spearheaded the first NABH accreditation in Western India and consistently enhanced quality standards. Dr Rajpal, a qualified medical graduate, also holds post graduate credentials in administration, public health, IT & finance.
Masina Hospital, founded by Dr. Hormusji Manekji Masina, has been serving South Mumbai for over 120 years as a charitable institution. Located on a 10-acre property, the hospital is currently undergoing modernization efforts. Recent updates include renovations to the ICU and operating theaters, improvements in diagnostic services with a 128-slice CT scanner, and expanded radiology and laboratory facilities, with plans for advanced MRI services in the near future.
The hospital recently received NABH accreditation.
In addition to various private cashless insurance tieups, Masina Hospital has recently secured the widely recognised GIPSA cashless insurance approvals, enabling cashless TPA services at competitive rates. The approval includes partnerships with four public sector insurance giants: National Insurance, New India Assurance, Oriental Insurance, and United India Insurance, allowing the hospital to cater to a larger segment of the population.
